Stress In The Workplace
We all face pressures at work regardless of job title, experience or age. Sometimes it can be useful to make us more productive and time-sensitive. But too much and productivity will quickly decrease and affects will be felt in our quality of life and happiness. Additionally, stress will make us feel mentally and physically unwell.
Stress, depression and anxiety was cited for 44% if all work-related ill-health cases and 57% of all working days lost due to ill health.
Employers have a legal duty to protect their workers from stress in the workplace. This can be by performing risk assessments, helping line managers having simpler and more practical conversations which prevent stress, or having individual stress action plans.
