What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a well-being service in which your employees have access to counselling session to support their mental health, well-being and any other issues that might be impacting their performance at work.
Our EAP service provides your employees access to professional resources and support to help them address any personal or work-related challenges including but not limited to: stress, depression, grief, anxiety, addictions, psychosis, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, suicide, self-harm, financial issues, relationships, autism, anger management & ADHD.
Together, we would agree an initial session limit that your employees can use. These session content would be confidential, and we would send you out a monthly invoice listing the number of sessions used.
Once a staff member has reached their initial session limit, and they require additional sessions, then we would reach out to you and discuss the need for additional sessions. You could then decide whether to continue funding sessions for that employee or if you would want the employee to fund further sessions themselves.
Usually, sessions limits are set between 4 – 8 sessions per person. However, it’s worth noting that mental health has a long recovery path and often people don’t report to start seeing a difference until their 6th or 8th session.
Face to Face
Our main office is in Colwyn Bay and has rooms that are cozy and intimate, offering a validating space for personal growth and healing. Employees often find face to face counselling more effective. Unlike other EAP services, we are proud to be able to offer face to face as an option.
Remote (phone / video chat)
If employees don’t wish to or are unable travel to Colwyn Bay, then we can arrange for remote sessions. These can be via phone or video chat. Employees often find this method more flexible as it can often be more easily fit in around other commitments.
Access and Support
Its important to note that employees should be supported in their attendance. This should be on a case-by-case basis and may mean an extended lunch break or late start/early finish given so that employees can attend.
Generally, sessions are held between 9-7pm however, we do have counsellors who also provide evening sessions.
- Confidential Counselling: Access to short-term counselling sessions with licensed professionals for issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, anger management, and more.
- Work-Life Resources: Support for non-mental health challenges, such as financial concerns, legal issues, or family matters that impact overall well-being.
- Accessibility: Services are available Monday – Friday (weekend on discussion) between the hours of 9am – 7pm via phone, online chat, or in-person sessions.
- Potential to Support Families: Some EAPs optionally extend services to family members, recognizing the interconnected nature of personal and family well-being. Please let us know if this is something that you are interested in.

Benefits of Using a Mental Health EAP Service
One of the top causes of business losses is employee performance. Statistics show that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year, and that 1 in 6 will experience common mental health symptoms each week. On top of this, statistics show that around 50% of all sick and long term leave are a result of stress.
By investing in your employees, you can reduce these statists in your business improving the staff culture, performance and productivity and reducing your costs.
Employees with mental health problems often require extended leave, and are more likely to make costly errors resulting in lost productivity and increased costs for employers. We are here to help support your staff with whatever they are facing so that they can return to a high level of performance and increase the business’s productivity.
Employees often leave because they do not feel valued or find the culture in that workplace very stressful. By providing EAP services shows that you are committed to your employees wellbeing and helps to change the culture and stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace.
1 in 4 people in the UK will have a mental health illness each year. Our EAP services are designed to help reduce stigma in our workplaces by opening up about common mental health illness and issues we all face.
Enabling employees to self-refer gives them the ability to seek early intervention. This can often prevent issues from escalating and
In 2018 the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) updated their guidance. Employers now need to consider mental health risks as well as physical risks.
We can help your business fulfil its obligation by providing your employees with an EAP service that they can reach out to any time that they have a mental health issue.
Additionally, we also offer Mental Health First Aid and awareness training courses. Providing MH First Aiders in the workplace and having a relevant mental health policies in place helps to reduce stigma, reduce stress, and improve productivity.
In general, there is a mistaken belief that investing in employees mental health is a pure cost to the business – nice to have, but benefits employees and not the company. And yet, a positive mental health workplace can make employees have in increase in confidence, self-esteem, judgement, ability to work with others, productivity, and an ability to fully concentrate (which often prevents costly mistakes or accidents in the workplace).
Put into plain figures: research by Deloitte shows that for every £1 invested in mental health intervention in the workplace there is a return of between £5 and £8.
